Have you heard of www.fabulously40.com?
A social network for women over forty that allows members to blog, socialize, share information and build relationships.

While the website is geared for a certain age group, we have seen growth in members that are under 30.

Ok, I've seen some like blogher, but now I see what you'd like to be different. I really love the idea. Perhaps just a simple forum would work and categories could be need/offering guest posts, SEO help, etc.

Tom, unfortunately the network is just going to be for women only. However, Aussie Bloggers caters for Australian bloggers of all genders.

I think it's a great idea. I can't tell you it will be a huge hit because you never know until you try. But if you need help I have a few hundred lesbian blog authors I could send your way!

I'd be up for it. Although personally I'd be more into an Aussie based one, I find a lot of blogs in my niche are from the states and sometimes it'd just be nice to find some more local art and blogging talent :)

That I can understand, but women are still very much in the minority, especially when it comes to A-list blogging. Also, some women for whatever reasons feel a little intimidated asking men for help with blogging and other tech questions.

I am a member of BlogHer, but all events are held only in the US which makes them completely unavailable to me. Also, I don't find that there is any discussion about blogging tips or helping individual members with particular issues like writer's blocks or providing guest posts if they can't post for any reason. I guess I am looking for something with more of a personal touch and a sense of community where it doesn't matter where you live.

I think you should check out BlogHer, which is exactly what you describe above. BlogHer links together female bloggers in both online and offline events.. it's a neat site!

I think it's a great idea too.

While you can never really know what will work and what won't, from my perspective bloggers as a whole generally like to meet/interact with others as well as learn how to promote their favourite posts or sites etc.

All it takes is a starting point - who knows where you might end up with it :)
